Mission Statement
The City of West Burlington's IT Department is dedicated to safeguarding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our city's digital assets and information systems. We are committed to implementing and maintaining a robust cybersecurity framework aligned with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800 series (SP800). Through proactive risk management, continuous monitoring, and comprehensive incident response planning, we aim to protect the city's critical infrastructure, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and preserve public trust. Our mission is to create a secure and resilient digital environment that supports the city's operational excellence and serves the needs of our citizens with the highest standards of security and service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementing and overseeing the city's cybersecurity program.
- Aligning cybersecurity and city objectives.
- Deploying Incident Response Activities.
- Managing business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Maintain network Infrastructure and hardware.
- Upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and computer hardware.
- Troubleshooting and providing technical support to employees.
